Was anyone else really dissappointed at the ending of "Desperate Housewives" last night? It showed all of the chararcters 5 years in the future, and Susan is maried to someone else,Gabby hads fat little twins, Lynette's kids are delinquents, etc.Do you think this is how they will continue it next season.or will they keep on with the current story? Oh,and Justine Bateman and Gary Cole didn't last long, did they?

I was very disappointed in the 5 year jump. Next season is going to start off 5 years in the future so the jump is permanate. Here are the spoilers for next season.

As revealed in the spoilers for the season finale, next season takes us FIVE years into the future and stays there. Lynette's kids will be either written out or recast, while Mrs. McCluskey's hard of hearing. Bree's well on her way to becoming the next Martha Stewart. Carlos remains blind. Katherine is still living on Wisteria Lane. Edie returns to Wisteria Lane, having also gone through significant change as well. Susan has a new man, played by Gale Harold. Gone from the show: Julie, Danielle, Dylan, and the actors playing Lynette's kids. Lynette's kids will be recast for season 5 and will be juvenile delinquents; the kids who've played them til now may or may not be back for a few flashbacks next season. Mike may or may not be back. (This was also said of Mike after season 1 and season 2. so who knows what's really happening.) Say hello to Kaila Say and Danielle Baltodano, who are playing Gabrielle's daughters Juanita and Celia. Gabrielle will be frustrated her kids don't live up to her standards of beauty. (Gabrielle's hardly living up to her own standards of beauty either!) The show has been picked up for next season. There will be 24 episodes!

I just finished watching it - I was disappointed too! 5 years is a long time to skip ahead. I just looked into it online and found this spoiler website and sorry to say, they stick with the 5 years ahead thing. This website said that Mike may or may not be back, and the show is only going to last through season 7. Also, the last season of the show might actually be set in the year before the show started. (so Brenda Strong will be on it) but they aren't positive about that yet.

I was so disappointed too!!!

Here's some info on the next season:

http://www.usatoday.com/life/television/news/2008-05-18-desperate-housewives_N.htm

-Lynette's kids will be recasted, but they might be back for flashbacks

-Mike might be leaving :( we find out mid June... (he better come back to win Susan over)

-Julie and Danielle are cut for sure

-Gabby will be "glamorous" again

I'm especially upset because Mike and Julie were my favorite characters...well along with Susan :(

I was hoping that it was a dream or something but after reading some stuff on the next season, I think they're just continuing with the 5 year jump. It kind of seems like the easy way out for the writers and Cherry. Kind of like they can't think of anything new. So amateur in my opinion.

What do you think about the "flashback"? I kind of like the idea.

I was also disappointed. If they really go forward 5 years, I feel like we've missed out on so much in the character's lives. I will be so sad if Mike Delfino's character isn't in the show anymore.

I was very disappointed. Especially with the 5 year flash-ahead.
