am i the only one in britain that cant stand soaps???

ive honestly not seen trash like it, i cant believe the number of monkeys who actually tune into this **** everyday, theres far too much of them, theyre on too much (i mean honestly whats the 2 episodes of corrie on monday (i think) about!)

the tvs bad enuf as it is perhaps if we didnt have the soaps we would actually have a chance of seeing something decent!

my worst has to be holllyoaks, im not even gonna start tearing it to pieces but at least thats aimed at teenagers who dont know any better

what about the rest of them? whats their excuse

can eveyone please wake up to this abismal nonsence so that this trash doesnt take over our screens for 2 hours a nite

who says hear hear LOL

Soap operas Ha Ha dont make me laugh .I would rather go to an opera and they are boring too#

Soaps are nothing like real life

They are a complete waste of my TV licence

They are on at peak viewing time

Could be watching some good sport or Film or even a documentary

The actors are terrible apart from a few who have gone on since being in soaps

I could go on all night giving reasons to hate them but Im even bored with this now

Bye

Peace

I don't really agree with the 'turn it off then' type comments. I really do think that exposure to some of this 'light entertainment' is bringing down society to a low common denominator. Some people watch these programmes and deep down believe behaviour like that is normal / acceptable. And of course if it seen as acceptable some will emulate it. (Shouting at one another for example).

If they must be kept on the television at least broadcast after the watershed. Lots of children get exposed. And who needs that?

Here's a sideways swipe at 'em:

Dear 87 y.o. Mum is addicted to them. Whenever I'm around and she's watching, I may well be in a different room but all I hear is screaming and shouting and a lot of other frankly scary bollox.

So the question I ask myself is this:

Are the soaps reflecting contemporary british society - or shaping it?

Agree totally - ban the buggers.

The best thing to say to your partner or anyone that wants to watch a soap in your house , you should tell them that soaps dont work on my tv, which is what i tell em all when i feel the next antichrist is ready to burst out of their chests, my mum is the worst, she has got two video recorders set up to tape all the other soaps she isnt watchin!!!!

I thoroughly accept as true with u for the reason that maximum soaps in basic terms supply upward push to baser emotions & have usually been reasons of family contributors issues/violence. however the million greenback question is: what do thousands and thousands of Indian housewives do instead, for the reason that they only stay for viewing such SOAPS!

Leave the soaps alone. 7 through to 8.30 is my choice on TV. Dont care whats on, we watch the soaps.

If you think British soaps are bad, you should see some of the reality TV shows in America.

Here's a radical idea: if you don't like 'em, don't watch 'em. Turn the TV off and do something less boring instead. Or better still, just get rid of the telly full stop. The gogglebox is for idiots anyway.

I agree, take the soaps away and throw them someplace along with all of the stupid reality shows.

thats why they have remote controls, change the channel and stop moaning, many people like them, also some of the soaps, especially corrie tackle everyday events to educate people, also some people like to sit down and relax and watch them.

what l meant by educate is they tackle current events what some programs see as taboo, i.e. cancer, gay marriage, abortions, i could go on and on.

Soaps are just fine. What's wrong with learning what new products are out there? I would never have known about Dryel if it hadn't been for soap commercials.

i'm with you all the way on this, i mean how can you call eastenders entertainment unless you're a manic depressive paranoid shizophrenic. come the glorious day the producers will be the first ones against the wall.
