Hey guys I started watching the X-files and heard of the spinoffs Millennium and Lone Gunmen. I was wondering if these spinoffs should be watched along with the X-Files series or after I have watched the entire original series first and then the spinoffs. Like are the spinoffs connected with the main series, do the characters show up in the main series from the spinoffs, would watching the main series first spoil the spinoffs. Is there a guide that shows how the spinoffs relate to the main series and how to watch them in order. thanks

The only thing that really overlaps is the final episode of Millennium - which basically is an X-Files episode entitled "Millennium".

Millennium IS a spin off of the X-Files. It took the same writer and the same ideas and placed them into a new show with new characters.

In short, for both series, you shouldn't have issues keeping up of missing things if you don't watch them with X-Files side by side. It's not like Angel where Angel disappears, saves the world with Buffy, and then shows back up and we are supposed to understand what went on.

The Lone Gunmen are occasional guest stars on The X-Files. I don't believe any of the X-Files characters showed up on The Lone Gunmen show, though.

While Millennium was by the same creator as The X-Files, it's not a spin-off. The two are unconnected.

in the event that they have never watched the instruct formerly, i might bypass with season a million. It had a mix of the alien mythology that the instruct exchange into so regular for, and the stand-out monster situations that in simple terms dealt with the mystical. It additionally might help that individual see the way it began out. despite if, in the event that they have considered some episodes and already have a regular thought approximately it, i might surely ought to advise season 4. on a similar time as you will have no arguments from me approximately how dazzling the third season exchange into, season 4 extremely added extra layers onto the government conspiracy - what with the killer bees, the revelation of the alien/human hybrids, and the 'black oil' alien virus that first made its visual charm in 'Tunguska' and 'Terma.' It had a large variety of stand-out episodes, alongside with 'homestead' which exchange into, by far, between the creepiest. It additionally had a large variety of character-pushed memories which might help a extremely new viewer understand who's who. 'Demons' dealt with Mulder's conflict to recuperate his previous, which in truth exchange into an ongoing conflict for him in the process the path of the sequence. 'souvenir Mori' dealt with Scully's abduction and the reprucussions it had on her, giving her a concepts tumor. 'Musings of a Cigarette Smoking guy' shed some easy on the instruct's maximum enigmatic character.
