seriously, i can't understand why people are so suprised. it's a satyrical cartoon who's two purposes are to make people laugh and piss people off. it's what they do best. they've been doing it for 10 freakin seasons already. they learned long ago that controversy = high ratings, and they're using that knowlege to their advantage. it's really rediculous how people are so easily offended by fictional characters. if you can't take a joke, change the channel.

The show is about shocking offesive stuff. Some folks like it, some don't. Those that do - watch it. Those that don't, dont. My response - yes, it is offensive, but big whoop. So is Jesus hosting a talk show. Frankly, I think the writers response at the end of the article says is all:
"We have offended people in the past and probably will again. We know that regular watchers will not be shocked.''

It seems that the South Park writers aren't the only ones who think it has been long enough since Irwin's death to make fun of him. There was a joke in my newspaper's halloween costume section about wearing kahki's and a stingray as a costume. I think it is sad that people find this funny!!

South Park has become so desperate and irrelevant, that they will do anything to grab attention. This was horrible, but they don't care because they will do anything to sucker people into watching them. The only way they'll stop disgracing good people is if you stop watching them.
However, South Park is like a flaming car wreck on the highway, no matter what you tell yourself you won't, when you get to the car wreck you slow down and look at it.

I'm with this guy...
"The writers should have more respect — I don’t think the family are being respected or honoured in any way by making his death the subject of a joke. It is wrong."
South Park is stupid, so are the writers, and frankly the viewers are too.

I thought it was in poor taste. That was someone's husband, son, and father. I like South Park, but sometimes they take things too far.
